Certified translation

WHAT

If you need a certified translation of an official document, contact a court interpreter. A court interpreter will provide a written document including the translation of the text from one language into another.

A court interpreter is a certified translator of official documents, such as:

  • Birth certificate
  • Marriage certificate
  • Police clearance certificate
  • School certificates
  • University diploma
  • Court application
  • The court judgment, etc.

WHO

If you are applying to a university in Slovenia or you want to certify your diploma or other proof of education, you will need a certified translation by an official (certified) translator (court interpreter). In this case, you will need to pay for the costs of a court translation yourself.

ATTENTION

If your document was translated by a court interpreter in Slovenia and you want to use it abroad, the translation must be certified by the Ministry of Justice (notarization or apostille). If the document will be used in Slovenia, this is not required.
