Bereavement payment and funeral payment (Pogrebnina in posmrtnina)

WHAT

This is a single payment. You are entitled to Bereavement payment when you’re a relative of the deceased family member and when you’re a holder of Financial social assistance or Income support or when your income does not exceed the legally set census.
You can claim Funeral payment to cover the funeral expenses. The funeral payment is paid out in the amount of two minimum wages. You can assert both rights in the period of one year after the death of the relative.

Survivor’s pension (Družinska pokojnina)

WHAT

Survivor’s pension is a monthly income you may be entitled to if you’re a surviving family member of a person, who was a payer of pension insurance. Survivor’s pension can claim: children, foster children, grandchildren and other parentless children for whom the deceased person provided for maintenance or parents for whom the deceased had provided for maintenance. However, additional criteria have to be met to be eligible (read more in the section “WORK”, Orphan/survivor’s pension)

Entitlement to survivor’s pension (Pravica do družinske pokojnine)

WHAT

Survivor’s pension is a regular monthly income granted to family members of deceased person, who was receiving a pension or a deceased person who was insured under disability and employment-related pension insurance and had reached certain pensionable service years. Certain other legally defined conditions must also be fulfilled. Survivor’s pension can claim: children, foster children, grandchildren and other parentless children for whom the deceased person provided for maintenance or parents for whom the deceased had provided for maintenance.

Entitlement to widow or widower’s pension (Pravica do vdovske pokojnine)

WHAT

Widow or widower’s pension (bereavement allowance) is a right you may be entitled after your spouse or partner has passed away if the deceased has reached 56 years and was insured under the disability and employment-related pension insurance or was receiving benefits from this insurance. Before being entitled to widow or widower’s pension, certain conditions by the widow or widower and by the deceased need to be fulfilled. Certain other conditions also apply.
