Employment Service of Slovenia

Employment Service of Slovenia is the central governmental institution that helps job-seekers to find jobs all over Slovenia. If you are unemployed you should register in the unemployed persons register. You can register in person with a valid ID. Employment service offers you variety of job vacancies and your personal career counsellor will give you support by finding a job and development of your future career path.

Vocational Information and Counselling Centre – VICC (Karierno središče)

Operating within the ESS, VICC offer information on employment possibilities, career counselling and life-long career guidance. They organize group workshops for improSPOTent of job seeking skills and present current job vacancies in cooperation with employers. At VICC, you can also access tools for self-directed career guidance, browse through job offers, etc.

EURES

EURES is the European job mobility portal. On their website, you can browse through jobs from all around Europe. You can also contact a EURES counsellor at the Employment Service of Slovenia who will advise you. Job offers on the EURES portal are classified according to different categories (field of work, country, etc.). You can also upload your CV to be available to employers across Europe.

Career Centres of Universities in Slovenia

All four Universities in Slovenia offer support by career development for their students. Some employers also announce job vacancies on their websites.

Zavod Ypsilon (Institute Ypsilon)

Institute Ypsilon is an NGO that connects young people. It developed a Mentorship programme (Mentorski program), where young people (between 15 and 30 years old) can find a mentor from their field of interest. The website connects mentors and young people. You can browse among people who want to be mentors and contact them to help with the development of your career. The cooperation is voluntary and free of payment, for mentors and mentees.

Zavod Nefiks (Nefiks Institute)

Nefiks is an institute that helps young people to record and articulate their knowledge and skills for successful presentation on the labour market. They run different programmes (such as Talentiran.si and employment Klubs) to support young people by building and developing their career and to improve their employability.

Inšpektorat za delo RS (Labour Inspectorate of Slovenia)

It is administrative body within the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs. It supervises the implementation of laws, other regulations, collective contracts and general acts that govern employment relations, pay and other receipts from employment.

Counselling Office for Workers (Delavska svetovalnica)

It is an organization that provides advocacy, protection, promotion and development of labour, social and statutory rights of vulnerable groups, such as migrants.
